What we collect
Anonymous directory searches do not require an account. Verified accounts are required for favorites, inquiries, and calls. Therapist applications collect professional, credential, screening-consent, and payment references needed to review and maintain listings.
What we do not collect
We do not retain raw search queries or precise client coordinates by default. We do not store clinical records, session notes, call recordings, transcripts, insurance claims, or advertising profiles.
Identity choices
Therapist identity attributes are self-declared and have public, match-only, or hidden visibility. Match-only may still permit a client to infer why a match appeared. Hidden data is excluded from profiles and search indexes.
Retention and rights
Consultation metadata is kept one year, closed inquiries two years, replaced or closed verification documents 90 days, and required financial/audit records seven years. Backups expire after 30 days. Contact privacy@ethnotherapy.ca to request access, correction, or deletion.
Production gate
A Canadian privacy impact assessment, province-specific legal review, processor agreements, and bilingual policy review must be completed before launch.
