Platform role
Ethnotherapy is a directory and communication platform. Therapists are independent professionals responsible for competence, consent, scope, licensure, documentation, and emergency planning.
Client eligibility
v1 is for adults 18 and older in Canada. A profile or match is not a recommendation, diagnosis, or guarantee of suitability. Confirm fees, insurance, credentials, and service terms directly with the therapist.
Instant introductions
Free introductions are limited to 15 minutes with a hard 20-minute stop. They are not therapy or emergency care and are not recorded. Both participants must follow respectful-use and privacy rules.
Therapist memberships
After approval, the required Directory Membership is USD $29.99 per year. Connect+ is an optional USD $9.99 monthly or $99.99 annual add-on with an opt-in 14-day trial. Each renews automatically unless cancelled at period end; applicable tax is added by Stripe. On annual Connect+, the combined annual total before tax is USD $129.98. Screening remains a separate applicant-paid vendor-cost checkout.
Enhanced placement
Connect+ can provide clearly labelled, capped priority visibility only after verification, legal eligibility, client filters, geography, and organic relevance are satisfied. It is a paid visibility and live-introduction feature, not a clinical endorsement, and it does not guarantee inquiries or clients.
Billing dependencies
A Connect+ payment failure retains add-on benefits for a seven-day grace period, then removes them without unpublishing an otherwise-paid directory profile. Ending the required Directory Membership unpublishes the profile and ends Connect+. Refund and cancellation terms must be confirmed before production launch.
Production gate
Final terms, refund/background-check policies, French translation, and provincial legal review are required before public release.
